The days US superpower are in real time decline. We are witness to the change in World order which will leave the US behind,

Good. I would relish a comeuppance after all the embarrassing chest thumping braggadocio we have indulged in for the past few decades. It's somebody else's turn.

The US has fallen, and it's incredibly heartbreaking!

Well, Miles, if ever there was a reason to impeach the whole darn cabinet, any attempt to weaken or potentially destroy NATO is absolutely insane. I think the whole lot of em should be impeached, tried and convicted of treason to the world order NATO has been attempting to develop since the end of WWII.

It will be interesting to me to see how Europe will emerge from the American folly of Trump and the destruction he is causing. Everyone focuses on the "winners" being Russia and China which certainly they are.

However, probably wishful thinking on my part, but it's always interesting that few mention the EU in what happens going forward. What does the EU look like post-Iran/post-Trump and what is their role? Can they get their act together so to speak, in cross border ways that would lead them to wield more power? Probably too many borders with too many leaders to ever be a superpower, but as basically a conglomeration of countries with broadly equal values and interests and liberal democracies, I'm rooting for them to emerge onto the world stage in a bigger way, They clearly have shared interests in coming together militarily in a bigger way to defend against Russia, but could that lead to other outcomes? And the EU has a huge economic relationship with China, importing more from China than we do, so can they play a role in containing China? Can they replace the US bringing liberal democracies like Japan, South Korea, Canada, Australia, etc. into the equation?

As we exit the world order, I hope Europe can take our place in some significant way though there are many hurdles to doing so.

I lived in the EU for twelve years and returned to the US for medical treatment three years ago. I can tell you the EU function as a cohesive group with clear lines of government and mutual cooperation. They are not a fractured group of states like in America. They live by democratic principles, the ones America once embraced If the sitting Congress does not reign in Trump and his dangerous associates America could go to shit very fast. We are almost there. We must push them to do more and We The People should be out protesting and making our voices heard, Holding peace rallies once every few months won't work.

This is really scary stuff. Congress should not be waiting, but preparing first to remove Trump by whatever means possible and throw. Hegseth, Patel and other ingnorant evil people out of this administration. Trump doesn't care what the rules are. Buy the time Congrees goes to use the tools in place he will have already caused irreparable damage to America and all our allies.

What in the world is WRONG with him? OMG if he wants to destroy things he should be put in a rubber room or something like that. HE'S a danger to himself and to many others and is doing it in the name of revenge. Revenge doesn't work, all it does is make things a whole lot worse.

I feel it’s vital for NATO nations to help the true American patriots.

Putin has a puppet in the Oval Office who has loosened sanctions to allow Russia to regroup, we have a Christofacist leading DoD who believes he is delivering on Armageddon, a billionaire Epstein class that wants to abolish Democracy, and a spineless GOP in Congress. It is the perfect storm.

It must be absolutely miserable living inside trump's head! I'm not saying that to elicit any sympathy for him, not at all. But think how awful it must be to spend nearly every moment being hateful; plotting revenge over & over; considering ways to punish adversaries, aka people or countries that don't agree with him. But then again for a brain like that those actions must give him considerable pleasure. How sad & disgusting is that?

Let me dust off my beleaguered, failing crystal ball & wander down where the information provided in this post might take us. If we pull out of NATO & Russia attacks Poland, &/or one or all of the Baltic States then those countries will invoke Article V of the NATO charter pulling in much of Europe & Iceland & Canada. Prior to the rise of trumpism we would also call up our considerable military might & expertise & answer the call to help against Russians intrusion. Not so now. Our inaction to provide aid to our one time allies will considerably weaken the response that Europe can muster, that in effect will be treating Russia as our ally! Well, now isn't that a turn around? We allied with the Soviet Union during WWII to destroy Nazi aggression. This time we would ally with Russia to destroy NATO & democracy in Europe. And who knows what ludicrous decisions would come out of that brain of which I spoke at the beginning of this comment? There will be no one there to stop the freight train of madness coming from this president. And we know that all it will take is a whispered compliment by Putin for trump to roll out that red carpet of positive response to whatever Vlad wants.

Shit, in all my ruminations about the path the US was heading down from losing our place as the prominent nation, to losing our democracy, now I must add the annihilation of what had once been a reasonably peaceful world, with many, many, many caveats of course. I'd better retire that old crystal ball, it no longer can see the depths to which the US may/will descend.

But hope does spring eternal. We can fight our way back from this internally with our votes, our protests, our freedom of expression, at least for now & who knows at some point civil disobedience my have to be considered as a last resort. But face it if it comes to that~~~~~you know what I'm going to shut my brain off from finishing that proposition, & close with, I hope it won't come to that.

Wow! Quite the written word this morning Miles! Thank you for this information!

Your live show was much appreciated with your SPLC content and having Frank Figliuzzi provide

us with his comments. I agree with your words, "the process is the punishment". These boys are evil. But their fear is becoming quite evident. Loved the doggie dump too - so appropriate!
