In 2018, Donald Trump scrapped his predecessor's Iran nuclear agreement. But the framework he's negotiating to end the war now looks hauntingly familiar.
Trump and his cabinet has grossly underestimated the Iran people. Drones are the future of warfare and much cheaper. I believe we won’t be able to get out of this war anytime soon. Pray for our ground troops.
I agree. Kegseth and Trump went into this war without any consideration of strategy, preparedness, weapon supply, or high numbers or casualties among American service members.
Everything, EVERYTHING, Trump does stems from his malignant narcissism. He tears up things just to redo and rebrand them, like the Kennedy Center. He wants to destroy Obamacare just so that it can be reconstituted in some (lesser) form as TrumpCare. He thinks he can “win” this Middle Eastern quagmire then rename the Strait of Hormuz as the Strait of Trump!!!
His elephantiasis of the ego gets in his own way. So do his sociopathy and dementia. Kegseth thinks we’re fighting a holy war. We’re not, and we are being led into Hell by morons.
And keeping the agreement would have made the ask to dismantle facilities and reduce missile capacity just incremental tasks and would have been a much more positive result for Trump. He is- and we can all find lots of proof-a shitty negotiator. My dog do better.
I think we should remember that Mr Trump is also dismantling the Affordable Care act for the same reason he broke the Iranian deal and with similar results. His jealousy of Obama has been costly indeed. Thanks for your courage Miles.💔🇺🇸
All that you said and the Trump family has invested in drones and is making a whole lot of money off of this war. Denver Riggleman has gone into this in detail.
Heaven forbid “the black guy” made a deal that was appropriate. His racism is on full display when he mentions Obama and his stupidity when he eliminates sound policies and agreements already in place.
The Iran war spotlights Trump's aberrant pathology to the world. And you don't have to be a mental health professional to notice Trump's decades-long obsession with Obama.
He hates Obamacare - mostly because of the Obama name. He wanted the Nobel Peace Prize more urgently because Obama won it. He hates Chicago because Obama loves it.
We should never forget that underneath a malignant narcissist's veneer of bluster and bravado is deep insecurity. Trump badly craves respect and legitimacy. The kind Obama has. That he never will.
The Trump Regime had no clue what they were doing when they entered this war with Iran and it shows up more as this war continues. Trump seems to think because his Cabinet, the GoP and others have caved to his demands that everyone will but he was wrong. Obama and Biden live rent free in Trump's head and anything they did that was for the good of the country he destroys because he doesn't care about the country or the people.
Every single day he is causing hell for American citizens and the world's people. How and why can one orange man have this much power of destruction? Everyone with any brain (excludes MAGA and GOP) realize he is the most dangerous and deranged power-hungry POS on the planet. Yet.... he is allowed to continue. Until some county says ENOUGH and nukes us.
Thank you, Miles. My take is that trump's only reason for war w/Iran was to steal oil and uranium. One of the pubs this morning talked about his plans for a "high risk" operation of a few troops to steal the uranium . . .
And what's happening w/unidentified Drones at military base in Louisiana? Please keep your reporting coming.
Lines from your post, Miles, should be made into headlines: E.g., "White House has apparently gambled the stability of the world economy, America’s security, and the lives of millions for a deal that we already had." It could be shortened of course, and excellent journalistic wordsmithers could do that. It's obvious and true, and I think it should be repeated endlessly, not on Faux News, of course, but in every other media outlet, print, television, and online.

If only Praying was a solution.
Exactly what I was thinking!

If he were just a bumbling, fumbling asshole alone -- but he's a malicious, evil, cruel, prevaricating asshole as well.
Excellent article Miles. I am so grateful for you and Xander. Thank you for all you do.
Ditto!!!!

I know this has been written about. It needs to be in headlines continually!!

Trump’s usual MO: break something, then claim credit for fixing it

I definitely worry that what has been called "sleeper cells" will activate and attack us within!
