3 weeks or more ago I had to go to Orlando by plane from CT. Every take off time was postponed or cancelled. On my return I arrived at 11 PM in DC and had to sleep on the fucken floor. I told everybody within ear shot that I would never fly domestically again for the rest of my life and I intend to keep that vow. I can drive anywhere or if heading Deep South, drive to VA take the auto train to Sanford, FL then drive. Never ever, never ever…. Never ever again in this failed of a state country.
Well, the look won’t be so bad at every airport. ICE storm troopers haven’t been assigned to any of the three majors — National, Dulles, or BWI — the ones members of congress use to get to/from DC. Oh, and the next congressional recess starts next Saturday, No Kings Day. Wouldn’t want folks to see pictures of congresspeople and SS troops palling around outside the Hudson News, now would we?
We need to obtain the full name and Geo-locations of these men and woman who decided for themself to serve on the Wrong Side of History there by opted to support DHS ICE & USBP under the Trump Administration. Same deal with people who prospered off the sell, resale or management of facilities, there by reaping huge profits or profiteering, in support of these large scale Secret Warehouse Prison Camps popping up across the U.S. in support to the Trump's Revenge Campaign to those that don't look or feel MAGA enough, thus a prime candidate and/or target for immediate deportation or death, including political opposition or opponents. This is precisely how $hit started in the 1930's before Germany went full throttle to convert several detainment centers into death camps by the 1940's. We can make a difference as to how this current moment in history unfolds by forcing the enablers to reconsider and rethink their legacy and how they want to be remembered in time. Let's get their full name, Geo-locations, and document how they enabled the Trump regime, then lets burn this information such that it cannot be erased or rewritten by these book-burners, shape-shifters, con-men, scammers, who like nothing more than rewrite history.
For almost 10 years I've been thinking every daily embarrassment and/or outrage would be that 'last straw' and the fever would break, but it seems like there's no end to it.
Seems like chaos at the airports should be enough, but if he still has the support he does after his little Iran 'excursion' I'm not holding my breath.
We have family members traveling this week on trips that were booked well in advance. Then, that is it. Staycations. Being in a blue state with our very competent and successful Governor JB Pritzker of course trump is sending ICE agents to ORD, O’Hare International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world! Plenty could go terribly wrong.
We are thinking about quarterly earnings releases by the airlines. The full impact of this absolute madness may not be fully felt this time, but the next time will be much worse.
Can some Republicans please stiffen their spines or find their balls to stop this lunatic. ICE going into airports is not going to end well and why is nobody talking about the young girls and women in concentration centers getting pregnant, ICE are raping these poor women!
Let every college student read this post. As a group college age voters have power to rally and add pressure to their respective political representatives. Hopefully they understand the gravity of what is at stake under this administration.
Fortunately for me (yes, some self-indulgence here) I hate to fly. It does affect me, though, in the sense that I feel terrible for all the people being impacted, especially the unpaid TSA workers. That has to be a miserable job under any circumstances but with the added burden of no pay & most likely a lot of irritated customers it must be akin to some sort of labor camp assignment.
One way to avoid the misery is for people to cancel all non-essential travel on their own. No more spring break vacations or jaunts to other places for recreation. Of course, that affects dozens of industries in negative ways so the monetary burden switches to a different segment of society. You'll notice, however, it NEVER affects the uber-wealthy, they are completely immune to the impact. They just go on their merry way, in their gilded bubbles telling us to eat cake?
And now we have the added concern about that terrible accident at La Guardia Airport.
It sounds like the controller had his/her handsful with another incident on the other runway requiring the assistance from the airport fire services. So you have one person dealing with planes that are landing at several minute intervals, a type of assistance emergency on a different runway & the need to give approval for cross runway access for the fire truck. Too few controllers for the amount of traffic at one of the busiest airports in the area. I wonder who this regime will hang out to dry on this incident, probably the controller. It's already an unmitigated disaster & trump & his cronies are going to send in ICE to "help". What could possibly go wrong??? Maybe they go after an Abuela with some grandkids & while they are handling that "emergency" any number of real problem individuals sneak through while the rest of the team is distracted!
I'm so glad I hate to fly & am very happy in my little home, with my kitty. Good luck to those who must travel.
People should go shout at their Republican representatives, but the shout should not be "Give Trump what he wants." It should be "get some common sense and fund TSA, Coast Guard, FEMA, etc."
To the surprise of absolutely no one except Agent Orange, he's doing the TACO dance. Why? Because Operation Massive Desperate Distraction continues not to achieve its main mission (distract from the Epstein files). So a TACO dance is in order to allow FFOTUS to declare victory and move on to the next part of OMDD. My cat came up with that explanation, and she is hardly a deep thinker.
Can the cities refuse them? SA, TX has been operating just fine. We don’t want them here! They can send them to Austin and see how Abbott and his cronies like it - people will not be happy about this. How does he just keep making it all worse?
For what it's worth, I think the best way to correct is put a hurt on the companies complying with this administration include the airlines. It seems obvious to me when ppl refuse to fly, the companies will be out a lot of money and will complain to Trump to remove ICE. Am I just being too hopeful?
My thought exactly. The airline’s bottom lines will undoubtedly be affected, which will put them into action to remediate the situation, especially as the summer vacation season approaches.
