Even if he gets an earful in Europe he won't hear it any more than he heard the boos & jeers & cussing at the Nicks game. He tells himself & others it was a tremendous reception. And he'll say it over & over & over to convince himself & he will. Delusion comes easily to the deluded.

NATO is not dead but it is for US. What do we think is going to happen if we should be attacked like on 9/11? I know what will happen, there may be some polite statements about how terrible it was, that terrorism has no place in the world but we're not going to see nations line up to support us/US like they did after 9/11. I can still see Tony Blair with his sleeves rolled up giving his statement of support immediately after we determined what happened. Pretty damn sure what we may see or hear is something along the lines of the individuals that were killed, maimed & injured didn't deserve it but as for the US, it may only be behind closed doors but the feeling will be that we deserved it.

I'm an atheist but I still use religious terms & here's one: "We elected the devil" & now we are going to suffer the consequences. We'll all burn in hell for what happened when we closed USAID! Hundreds of thousands starving for lack of food, suffering through terrible diseases because it was more important to put "America First". And, fuck! The quislings & trump didn't put America first at all, they put themselves first, especially the orange devil. No one, no thing is more important than feeding that glutenous beast & his enormous, delicate ego.

Just ask the parents deciding whether to provide food or medicine to their kids! Third world countries, move over, make room for the millions in America that will suffer a similar or same fate that you are going through, though with our obesity problem our starving & hungry won't look emaciated for a while. But it will come if we keep Magats in power after trump succumbs to his hatred & pettiness. Hate is a disease that eats the patient from the inside out & it's showing on his hands & feet. Hate is all consuming & it will eventually take him & his followers across the River Styx & deposit them in Roman hell!!!!

"Delusion comes easily to the deluded." Thank you for that sentence! Interpreting the reception at the b'ball game as cheers and adulation means he will interpret the world only to aggrandize himself. What will he tell himself if he punches the nuclear code to wipe a country of the face of the map? What will we tell ourselves? What will Mike Johnson and the other toadies tell themselves? Good job? It's well that other countries no longer trust us. They shouldn't, and it remains to be seen if we can get back a semblance of sanity to our country. Clearly, I'm not at my most optimistic this morning.

9/11

Der Shitterpanz forgot about that.

Well, maybe Putin and Kim will come to America's aid in time of need.

This, in large part, is why I continue to assert that Trump will Quit/Resign should the Dems take control of Congress following the mid-terms. In my view, he will not wish to spend his remaining time in office fighting constant impeachment motions. He will quit/resign and blame everyone for being disloyal, corrupt, and unappreciative of his efforts toward a perfect MAGA, and for ruining his health. First though, he will pardon those he considers worthy. Consider that he has immunity gifted by SCOTUS, a potential tax immunity agreement (including family and associates), and the gains from his grift. He will take your Carte Blanche with him to continue as his personal lawyer. The chaos that will ensue following his resignation will help insulate him from immediate retribution. We will have to contend with Vance, a fractured Cabinet, a diminished DOJ/FBI/ODNI/etc., an Iran War of his making, loss of allies, tariffs, and on and on and on. He knows we will be too busy with damage control to focus time and valuable resources on retribution. Then he will die.

Goldfinger Is Toast's avatar

He’s not going anywhere. He’ll have to be excised as the tumor he is.

Jim (Bombguy24)'s avatar

I used to feel that way BUT, everything I read and hear (here too on Defiance) indicates that Trump's downward trajectory is not really reversable. He knows he is sick, and I think those who are using him recognize he will only drain MAGA support following the mid-terms. What better way to push him out, while at the same time let him have his immunity, tax relief, etc. He will leave but everyone else will still be there, focusing on 2028.

Goldfinger Is Toast's avatar

Nope. He resigns, he’s re-exposed. And a LOT of us who yelled “PRISON!!!” are now shouting, “DEATH”.

Make it so.

Jim (Bombguy24)'s avatar

Perhaps. But the court's will be so overwhelmed with reform and chaos that Trump will be able to delay and direct action against him until after his death. Sorry, but nothing will happen to him until SCOTUS changes his immunity status- and that will take months, perhaps years.

Do what SCRoTUS has been doing – IGNORE THEIR LAW.

We could’ve bagged that asshole YEARS ago if The DC Idiots ignored that non-law non-rule,

“We don’t prosecute sitting presidents.”

Uh, YEAH, we can.

It's a tragedy that one unstable and ignorant man has caused us to lose friends, allies, and our standing in the world.

Karen, it's a tragedy that millions of American voters voted in favor of this obviously flawed individual. They voted even after he proved he cannot govern, ran the most chaotic administration in history and staged a self-coup to stay in office after he soundly lost the 2020 election. Are American voters so ignorant, so lacking in analytical skills, or so impressed with Trump's bombast and lying skills? It beats the he'll out of me!

karen strano's avatar

Beats the hell out of me too.

Kat Hudy's avatar

I feel the same.

With so many GOP voting the party line and not acknowledging their responsibilities to their oath - one has to believe that many are pedophiles. We know that 140 + are insurrectionists that want to protect their future and Trump - but with 500 + in Congress there is something very wrong.

We do know they enjoy the corruption and abusing their campaign funds and there is an emphasis to continue to protect Hawley from his use of NRA funds - the corruption is very organized. Cruz, Hawley, Grassley, Graham,, Cornyn, Jordan, Biggs and Roy are several insurrectionists that control the judiciary committees that have responsibility to question and object to executive branch decisions - but they have not. The majority of voters are not MAGA and do not support Nazi behavior and we would prefer to keep strong ties with NATO and the EU - rather than have a POTUS war criminal that runs with the KGB play book. Corruption rules and the end result makes no sense - unless they all take their wealth and move to Nazi Argentina with Thiel.

Hawley talks out of both sides of his mouth trying to keep his lifestyle! He is white Christian that has established aPAC with his wife for a National Abortion Ban. She is the one who got rid of Roe!

Coward Hawley's my so-called representative.

Another day, another demonstration that Trump's approach to warfare is to make civilians pay for the actions of governments.

So along with NATO no longer seeing us as an ally. He’s doing a bang up jobs with the Arab nations surrounding the Persian Gulf. As they’ve said, they can withstand price shocks, flight cancellations, and even temporary energy disruption more easily than they can withstand a major breakdown in potable water supply. That is why the next phase of this war may not be defined by what happens to oil. It may be defined by whether anyone is reckless enough to turn the region’s water system into a battlefield.

So…..In retaliation for Iran shooting down a U.S. helicopter whose two crew members survived without injury, Trump's military destroyed two water reservoirs serving communities near Sirik, leaving 20,000 civilians without safe drinking water as temperatures climb past 120°F. Local officials say there isn't enough groundwater to replace the lost supply.

For those keeping score at home, this wasn't a missile site, a radar installation, or a military base. It was water… Nothing like committing “war crimes”…

Of course he will do some lying post that we are really close to a deal with Iran….

Nancy's avatar

My most optimistic hope is for a war crimes tribunal, targeting civilian structures; and I also can't forget the boats bombed in international waters with no evidence that they are carrying drugs. Oh, yes, DJT says so! We'll need a name that lasts as long as the words Nuremberg trials has.

Hi, European here. Belgian actually... you know... living in a hellhole place as said by Putin's BFF (that is if you hate french fries, Belgian waffles, chocolate, hundreds of beers, very fine food, functioning universal healthcare, no school shootings, René Magritte, surrealism, and on and on....).

I do not hate "the Americans". I hate the rule of this orange faced wannabe dictator-king. I hate the sycophants that rubber-stamp the dementing and decaying fool's idiocies. I hate the fake christian crusaders style kegseth. I hate that idiot who is destroying healthcare while eating roadkill and swimming in sewage water. I hate that ridiculous hassett dwarf who keeps laughing with ordinary people's money problems. I hate the idiots who saw fit to vote for the cheater-in-chief not once, not twice but even three times! I hate Roberts for allowing the überrich to poor tons of money on rightwing clowns. I hate Freeze McConnell for not impeaching the convicted felon twice.

But I do not hate "the Americans". I admire the accomplishments like storming the moon after having stormed the beaches of Normandy! Faut le faire!!

You'll get your country, your Republic, back but times will be difficult for a while. The stench and the rot will be have to be cleaned out of what is left of your White House.

Rebuilding the relationships destroyed by the guy who masters "the art of the fail" and his minions will take decades. Maybe even a generation or two.

Kat Hudy's avatar

I pray it doesn’t take generations long.

What a surprise that "Donald Trump's relentless threats against traditional partners has left America close to friendless. " is for real! People who treat other people with zero or no respect get discarded/rejected too! It's ashamed that it takes only 70 million disgusting & deplorable humans to cause so much damage, but truth is that history & circumstances repeats.

Eighty years of work and trust flushed down the drain by one ignorant man. Hard to believe.

Joan MacLeod's avatar

It will be a long time for allies including my country Canada to ever trust the US again after having Trump threaten our country and others while insulting us constantly.

Come on. We're close to a deal with Iran. The Stock Market is up. The Felon is going to make $millions on the UFC fights, making $billions on crypto currency, $millions for his family and those around him. All's right with America.

Had it not been for the six Christian Nationalists on the Supreme Court, the Felon would be in jail now. There's no such thing as Presidential immunity anywhere in the Constitution. The only place immunity is discussed in the Constitution, is immunity for Congressional members during debate on the floors on the Senate and/or the House.

Anyone interested in how the United States led the burgeoning coalition in the late 1940s and into the 1960s must study the controversial leadership of the US. Not only did the United States ensure the creation of NATO but also the military alliances in Latin America, the Middle East, and the Far East, including Australia and New Zealand.

Historians hotly debate the formation these military alliances. And will do so for years and years to come. But the only conclusion is that the US sought to lead not cower in the face of adversity.

I hope like hell he doesn’t go to either one of those meetings. I know it be good for us but only if someone else were going . He’s to big a narcissist and cry baby if he just doesn’t get his way he would definitely f it up for everyone else.

Only Cohnheads are not.

Can't believe they passed that funding, more misery for more people that don't deserve it. We have a couple of Trump lovers in our government, racists of course, but the general public opinion is Trump is our number one enemy. The jokes and cartoons going around, if only the orange idiot could see them. Trump has never put America first, its always been Trump first ( family & sycophant mates second), nothing else matters in Trumps delusional world.

Thanks Miles. Well scripted. Just an elderly Canadian who still knows the US citizens are solid. Its just that you are going through a rough patch in history. Yes NATO was there for the disaster of 9/11. That lard ass gorilla swinging on the chandelier at the White House will be history some day and the bridge to Europe will be mended slowly. This presidentship has really gone to his head. He actually thinks he is loved by the world leaders , well Donald can only love Donald. Sad. Its going to be quite a spectacle June 14, I believe, when the thunder and lightning bring the rain to his UFC cage match.
