I distanced myself from a covert narcissistic father as a young adult. It was a great mental health decision at a time before NPD abuse was not widely understood. Now, I feel like my country is being held hostage by a far worse character, a malignant narcissist cosplaying mob boss-POTUS and his Machevallian flying monkeys. Voting en masse " too big to rig" in November is a matter of life or death.
Logic and reason does not work. And, Trump's malignant narcissism reacts by attacking those who present the receipts/facts refuting his worse impulses and delusions. Yet, we must continue to make those reasonable and factual cases -- Not that we will ever convince the narcissist, but to defang and neutralize his "flying monkeys"
What you have just described is the fallout from "narcissistic abuse" but on a collective scale. Those of us who have experienced it on an individual scale know the impacts all too well and it takes years to overcome. I'm still recovering after 15 years away from my narc. It will take the country decades to heal from all of this.
It is perpetually frightening that 75 MILLION notionally sentient Americans repeatedly chose a clearly disturbed individual, clearly someone who worships the Russian dictator (probably in large part because he can have people thrown out of windows), to ru(I)n our country.

Putin and others may be dictators who do evil things but even they do not tweet all night and they certainly don't subscribe to chaos. They are smart and organized. That leads me to believe that he is no longer "Trump being Trump". He exhibits all traits of being mentally ill.
Russia & China are the big winners in this war. But I bet they are somewhat chagrined that the "leader of the free world" was taken down by a small, "backward" country like Iran. Their closure of that 22 mile stretch of water did what Russian & Chinese military might & nuclear stockpiles could not!
But speaking of trump's inattention to things around him I wonder if anyone is briefing him on the Chinese blockade of a stretch of water near the Philippines? I'm guessing that the reasons China did that are twofold, one, the US has now set precedent for blockading a stretch of international waterway & second, trump doesn't understand or care about the strategic importance of the area. He's too busy "winning" his war in Iran.
We have entered a new era in the US~~~the world's greatest superpower losing its prestige & good name & becoming a pariah in the world like Kim in North Korea. Ah, yes, America made great again!!!! The rest of the Western Democracies are moving on without us. And thanks to the stupidity & gullibility or downright disinterest of our electorate, we did it to ourselves!!!
I have been telling everyone that Midterms in November are our only chance to weaken this most dangerous loathsome human. VOTE like you life depends on it because it does.
