THE WIN: AMERICA MADE HISTORY
Americans showed up on Tuesday night and handed Donald Trump a historic defeat. Democrats flipped both chambers of Congress, with at least seven Senate pickups and a projected 28-seat gain in the House.
And DEFIANCE members helped make it happen. Over the past year, this community supported more than 35 organizations with millions of dollars, funding voter protection efforts and organizing in key battleground states. Our goal was to make the election “too big to rig.” Tuesday night, Americans delivered.

MAGA leadership might be heading for the exits, but we’ve got a few words for them: NOT SO FAST.
The election is over, but the investigations are just beginning.
Former federal prosecutor Ankush Khardori (@ankushkhardori) joined us to discuss what Democrats should investigate now that they control both chambers of Congress. Rep. Robert Garcia has already warned Trump’s allies to “lawyer up,” while House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is emphasizing affordability over getting even.
But as Ankush explained, congressional oversight is one of the few things Democrats can pursue without the White House’s cooperation. And voters have made their priorities clear: corruption and affordability are crucial.
Americans deserve both. And this week’s mission is to start delivering accountability NOW.

We’re putting money behind the mission.
DEFIANCE awarded a $10,000 grant to the Rule of Law Project, led by former federal prosecutor Mark Blumberg. His team of former DOJ prosecutors and FBI agents is investigating allegations of ICE and Border Patrol abuses and public corruption.
Their goal is to build prosecution-ready case files, complete with witness statements and documentary evidence, for state, local, and potentially future federal prosecutors. As Mark explains: criminal investigations take time, and waiting two more years risks losing valuable evidence.
The project is already attracting retired federal agents and volunteer attorneys. Now it needs resources to put investigators in the field.
Your action: Help fund the investigations. Even a small donation helps cover investigators’ travel, evidence collection, and the work needed to prepare cases. But not everything needs to be monetary; contact your representatives and let them know about the project and lead them to get involved.
