So much of what the regime is doing is outside the law and the Constitution that it's about time something is starting to break through the gridlock of yes men in Congress. It was insane that the SignalGate episode didn't eliminate Hegseth from the picture!

I hope this breakthrough extends to other areas such as the attacks the EU. That the long partnership with those countries is being eschewed in favor of some ludicrous "America First" cover that is really "Trump first" would make all those who fought in WWII roll over in their proverbial graves and, in my opinion, is in itself anti-American.

The attack on Americans in terms of beliefs (freedom of which is guaranteed by the First Amendment), speaking out against rampant capitalism, and American actions is as predicted with the previous warnings about NSB 7. Where is the line drawn about when a person has gone so far at to be considered anti-American? If you are not Christian, are you anti-Christian?

Finally, thanks for moving the Defiance Radio broadcast to 5pm. I know it's difficult to find a slot that accommodates the majority of our members.

Accountability. I word that we're hearing more, and we can only hope that it comes to fruition. I still fear that Trump will just issue another one of his blanket pardons on his way out the door. And will he himself ever be held accountable? The supreme court say no. So, where does it all end? I try to be optimistic but the 2026 elections are still a year away and he can conduct beaucoup mischief in the interim. :-(

I agree. I’ve said this many times before: How can SCOTUS not see what they have unleashed by granting more and more power to Trump?

“The boat-strike lies are piling up”. The Walls are closing in…” The Art of the Lie could be political satire it wasn’t for the reality of facts and evidence surrounding the tragic extrajudicial killings at sea. Responsibility and accountability for the illegal and inhumane actions committed by the Trump administration must be investigated and established as soon as possible before the case disappears into the maelstrom created in the wake of Trump’s criminal enterprises.

I like this in depth piece. I personally don’t believe bombing boats is more important than sex trafficking girls. I think they’re both very important because it’s all corruption and deception.

I suppose I’m sceptical enough to believe that the administration will stonewall these strikes as much as possible. At least as long as Trump hangs onto Hegseth.

Great article, Miles. Grim as it is for what it is, I appreciate there is growing bipartisan alarm and pushback to this regime--finally. I'll be holding my breath, hoping Congress digs deep, listens with alarm to Adm. Holsey, and realizes they need to DO THEIR JOBS and push back on trump and hegseth. (What the hell kind of a Commander in Chief is that mealy-mouthed boy-child anyway???)

I also greatly appreciate you showing the arc between this operation and where it could very likely lead here in the U.S. I have no doubt you're right. Based on your first-hand experience with trump, I'm sure he's foaming at the mouth for the chance to use the U.S. military to maim and kill opposition here at home. That sounds overly-dramatic, but I believe your insights.

Just like them saying the lie over and over as if that will make it true, firing all the attorneys who said the strikes were illegal is never going to make it legal. What you have is a small group of legal people willing to toss their integrity, honor and oath out the porthole.

Rules of engagement are what distinguish the disciplined military of a civilized society from the ruthless hordes of a barbarian culture. When Lethal Pete harangued our military leaders about not honoring rules of engagement, every fire alarm in the Pentagon should have been activated. The superficiality of the Trump regime, and specifically Hegseth, was on full display when he used "the fog of war" as an excuse for not having seen the first strike's survivors.

Anyone with even a passing familiarity of Clausewitz and his classic work "On War" will know that by the fog of war, he was not referring to fog on the battlefield or smoke on the water but rather to the unforeseen perverse consequences of launching any military action.

The fog of war is how the Tonkin Gulf resolution escalated into a war that divided our nation and resulted in the deaths of 50,000+ American soldiers in an unwinnable war in Vietnam. The fog of war is what turned Putin's attack on Ukraine into a Russian nightmare. The fog of war is what might well turn the ignorance and arrogance of the Trumpists into another American nightmare. Vietnam 2.0 in South America.

Thanks, Joe for confirming what I thought about fog of war. I have not read “On War but have heard the term “ fog of war” several times in my life. Although I couldn’t actually define it, it was never used in a way that would have led me to believe it existed in physical form. They need to put a warning on books he’s written( hard to belief I know). THIS AUTHOR HAS SHIT FOR BRAINS would work.
