Last night on Rachael Maddow I heard about the many concentration camps being planned all over the country and the outcry. We are Americans. Not Red or Blue. We are united against Trump (I hope).

Thank you Al. I'm so grateful when I hear news media say "Minnesota" vs "Minneapolis" as this is happening ALL over the state. I've lived 50+ years in Minneapolis but have worked all over the state and know that the farming communities, where legal immigrants and citizens live, are very active. There is no one to film/document the horrible abuses and cruelty in the cornfields.
Stay safe and my advice is to remember this is happening all over Ohio not just the "blue cities". Thank you for your thoughts and for your actions. Together we can.

I'm so encouraged by this! I was wondering why more wasn't being done to hold these flagrant violators accountable (and I like the play on FAFO). I have upgraded to being a paid subscriber based on this alone. Congress has failed us. The Supreme Court has failed us. Our prosecutors and District Attorneys are stepping up to preserve our rule of law. Bravo!

This feels cautiously hopeful. I recently read an article (Lincoln Square, perhaps?) stating that criminality is so rampant inside CBP that an officer is arrested every 24-36 hours. One has been arrested 5 times. I’d love to have you address this, but it seems that these known criminals are then sent back out to continue terrorizing people. That is unconscionable, if true!
Another issue that concerns me, since federally-enabled thugs are roaming are also surveilling us, is the safety of those of us who are doing everything from protesting to helping those who are especially vulnerable. In the groups I’m part of, many advocate moving about with no phones or smart watches, deleting social media accounts and deleting texts and any other messages that could potentially reveal our whereabouts or our activity - or any history of this. Not only would I not feel safe traveling without a phone/watch, but these suggestions feel a bit naive. Can’t deleted accounts/etc be recovered? I’m under the impression that bad actors have very sophisticated ways of tracking us - from our locations to the stances that we’ve shared with others. (Footnote: I’m also not willing to hide. This should be our Dietrich Bonhoeffer moment. But that’s just me.) Given your expertise, I’d love to see you write about this!)
I read this with growing fury and disbelief. A meeting about “how to respond” when federal officers violate state law? Preparing to take action? “Experts” say absolute immunity is bogus? I’m no expert but doesn’t every American know no one is above the law? We don’t need to be reminded of that, but apparently police and local prosecutors do. Why haven’t there been hundreds of ICE and CBP arrests already?
Can a group like this also go after perpetrators in the Epstein files. Perpetrators who sexually abused victims and perpetrators who abused our financial institutions to cause havoc on our society? We need accountability in so many aspects to restore faith in justice for all.
