Notice that it is all ad hominem attacks with no factual basis? That is what Donffrey Trumpstein learned from daddy and Roy Cohn. Trumpstein couldn't make a cogent argument if his life depended on it. It's too bad his supporters accept fluff over facts.
His supporters, the most hard core at least, share the same character flaws. Like him, they’ll double down because admitting they were mistaken would be soul crushing.
Miles, your incisive analysis is truly brilliant. Thank you for shedding light on the fundamental weakness of Trump and the inherent strength of individuals with a conscience.
Please do everything in your power to counter the new policy that will keep detainees in concentration camps around the country without possibility of release on bond. Many more lawyers are needed to represent detainees and get their cases heard. Many more judges are needed to hear the cases. Medical staff are needed to reduce deaths from lack of medical care. We must not repeat Hitler's Holocaust.
Trump was taught by his father—-there can only ever be one winner—and he’s spent his entire life trying to be that. This is why he is blind to everyone else—he sees everyone else as a threat to be defeated. It is a horrible way to live life…..
He has been miserable all his life because he can’t ever seem to get what he wants. The 2020 election is still driving him, even though there’s nothing he can do about it.
"...nothing will accelerate his political and historical collapse faster than a movement of people he cannot buy off or scare off — because they are a breed he cannot morally comprehend."
I always read your newsletter first because I respect and admire your courage, wisdom and humility. You know more than most because you actually saw Trump up close and personal during the years you worked in his first administration. Your words of truth give me hope and inspiration. Thank you for being a true American patriot.
Miles: thank you for your work. I’m so glad I found you. Your experience and wisdom is much needed in this horrible abusive period in our history.
Robert Arnold wrote a piece on 2/8 called “ on being unapologetically unaltered”, which amplifies what you’re saying today. We must remain unapologetically unaltered in our empathy, our morals and values. That is our super power. If you or anyone can access that essay it is powerful and profound.
Robert Arnold is a fantastic writer. I first found him just scrolling through TikTok, but he’s now here. He’s also appearing as guests on several Substack lives. I just heard him on a short one yesterday as he was headed from DC back to Minneapolis to help. What he had to say about the people there was so inspiring, just lifted my spirits.
Miles, you are a brilliant writer and your theory is well put. I cannot tell you how your words have comforted me and shored up my own resolve to do every little thing, no matter how pathetic but on the right side, to contribute to the moral army that you describe. I am in awe of your own resolve because I know how much it must have cost (and is still costing) you. But it is clear that you can do no other, being who you are, and you will go down in the history books as one of those heroes who held the line at great personal cost and figured strongly in the defeat of evil and immorality (yes! DJT will be defeated!) with your own firmly fixed courage and right-thinking. You are a beacon of light to follow in this fight for right and decency and you will definitely get your reward when your leadership will have led to the defeat of the evil that is Trump and his heinous regime. Thank you, thank you, thank you from all your devoted fans.
Frances, “every little thing” you do is NOT pathetic. It is amazing. This effort takes all of us, not just those with a huge microphone. I applaud you for staying in this honorable fight. Keep doing “every little thing!”
Agree. One little act does not make much of a difference. But millions of little acts do. That's why it is necessary for each of us in this movement to connect with each other, to recognize our collective effort, our moral refusal, as Miles put it, is making a difference.
The New York Times (Trump calls it a “failing” newspaper but in reality it’s doing better financially than ever in its long history) occasionally publishes its “Autocracy Index.”. This week among its 12 categories, it places the category “Persecuting political opponents” at one of the highest levels of Trump’s move to being a true autocrat
There are 10 steps in each category. Persecuting political opponents ranks at step 5–right in the middle.
Go to the Times website. It’s on yesterday’s editorial page (Sunday, February 8, 2026).
Thank you so much for the gift link. I used to subscribe but got angry with them & the WaPo for their constant dragging of Biden, & so I cancelled them both.
Yup, going to another protest this evening. My signs for today are:
Protect our immigrants with an image of the Statue of Liberty.
An ICE OUT sign.
And I added another:
Impeach & CONVICT the Racist criminal in the White House!
I imagine that will move me up the list of "enemies of the state" a few notches? It's worth it. Good chance it would be bad press to rough up a 77 year old Gramma with cancer using a cane or walker!!!!
Have you read the 4 parts of the 16 yr old child’s diary that Epstein & Maxwell had captive, & impregnated her at least 3-4 times?
It is on the Substack of Ellie Leonard - The Panicked Writer. She has taken a lot of her time to decode the writing that was done in a rather simple code. She has translated it for us on an identical page next to each original. It will break your heart & make you cry.
I doubt any of the people in Congress have seen or decided that diary yet.
Trump is a malignant narcissist and like a malignant cancer it has spread throughout this nation by attracting other narcissists who make up his MAGA base. If you know any of these people it is easy to see that they either fit the criteria of NPD, or they are subjugated to someone who does.
Trump attacks those he is jealous of! Wear your badge with honor!

Absolutely Ray. I’ve been saying that all along.
The man has no conscience; everything is transactional with no morality.

Thank you, Joyce!! TRUTH…
The persecuted in our nation need help in so many forms…legal representation and government oversight of those concentration camps, to name two.
The only buck that stops in Trump's White House is in his pocket.
Miles, truly outstanding. What a lift to start the day! Much strength to you and yours.

Brilliant observations on trump's Achilles Heal.

Thanks, Miles. Time to question Ms Suzi, Stephen Miller, now. National Security cannot wait. Counting on your expertise Miles.

Thx for noting this Jack! I'm a Times subscriber and I didn't know about the index. You are welcome. I dumped WaPo but I still got good stuff from NYT.

Go get 'em Gramma and God bless you! If you are a true Christian, you know God is with you and there's nothing to fear.
Thanks for the supportive words.
You are welcome!

He always calls protesters paid insurrectionists. He will never understand that we are just pissed off American Citizens!!
