Brace yourself. I just got shocking news from our team about last night.

Here's the email I sent to Robert De Niro, Stacey Abrams, Mayor Jacob Frey, Mark Ruffalo, and others who spoke at our State of the Union rebuttal event.

I waited most of the day to post this. Last night, we held one of the biggest rebuttals to the State of the Union address in American history. Trump was furious. He even said that our keynote speaker — Robert De Niro — should be deported for the crime of criticizing Trump. But that’s not what was shocking. Not even close. I waited all day because I wanted to be able to share the NUMBERS with you. And now they’re in.

It turns out your voice reached people. A LOT of people! I’ll let you read the news yourself. Below. I sent an email to all of our event speakers just a little bit ago, letting them know how much their message (and yours) resonated with the world.

Quick explanation: “impressions” means how many times folks encountered content about our event, whether viewing the whole program or reading about it. And I’m going to be honest with you. I suspected we might have had several million impressions…or maybe tens of millions?

But then our digital guy Scott — who used to be Barack Obama’s social media guru — told the team that STATE OF THE SWAMP drew 215 million impressions. Here’s the data for you to review yourself, broken down below. Wow. You wanted us to be loud… and we were LOUD.
