This ragtag assortment obviously creates all kinds of command-and-control issues which exacerbate the situation at street level. Lack of a well-defined, singular command structure is a recipe for chaos. It empowers individual agents to take matters into their own hands, often in a way that contradicts the commands of the guy next to them. ("MOVE YOUR VEHICLE!" "GET OUT OF THE CAR!")
There hasn't been much focus on this, and it's causing serious problems.
The state Guards don't suffer from this disability and if it ever comes to a faceoff between them and the camo mob, it won't go well for the latter.

I saw that comment from Rogan yesterday and it allowed me a sigh of relief. For anyone who needs a bit of comic relief, I recommend Kimmel's opening dialog from last night, his “MAGA Sack” bit got my husband and I laughing.
In seriousness, though, I hope Rogan's words signal a greater shift on the part of Trump supporters. ICE is damn scary and their increasing attacks on American citizens should cause more to speak up.
However, I am greatly concerned that we, the people, will reach a boiling point and that is just what Trump is hoping for. If he declares a National Emergency against citizens, it may allow him to suspend elections by pushing Congress to do so.
I'm strong in my support of our group actions and fighting agains the regime. At the same time, it scares the bejesus out of me.
One of the best shows I ever listened to on Joe Rogan Experience was #2399. It was with Daryl Davis and Jeff Schoep. Daryl Davis is a black man who has made a life around helping folks in KKK, Neo-Nazi etc., get out . Jeff Schoep was part of the Neo-nazis for like 27 years until he met Daryl Davis--and then left. Now he too works to help people leave/change too. It is well worth the listen.
And I think it reflects why Rogan is now calling out ICE--realizing that they were like Jeff Schoep was and this is not a good thing!
I appreciate Rogan's calling this out as well. It's not easy for MAGA people to even think that their dear leader may have been successfully lying to and manipulating them for years, and an even bigger step to question, then admit it..... and then leave the movement. This will be really helpful.
My No Kings poster--made last June--includes a picture of Tufts University student Rumeysa Ozturk surrounded by masked ICE agents right before she was snatched and whisked away in an unmarked ICE vehicle, with the caption "NO THUGS!"
Sardonically funny, that picture of Ms. Ozturk being abducted by ICE seems almost quaint now. At least the events since then have even the MAGA-verse starting to recognize the Gestapo-like thuggery now.
I'd forgotten about the Ozturk kidnapping. It was shocking and terrifying. And even though most of us who have followed certain figures for YEARS knew this would be a challenging time, we never thought it'd become what it has, which is downright unbelievable and beyond frightening (and bound to get even worse). We've been spoiled. I keep thinking about immigrants who came here to ESCAPE the exact environment we are all now currently experiencing. I don't think long-time anti-immigration people understood it. Maybe now they will begin to. (And maybe they will participate in insisting that schools update history classes to ensure students REALLY "get" it... then also insist on focusing on how a democratic government should work, learning how to think critically, and the importance of being an active, informed voter.... and then ensure their kids "get it" also..... IF we make it out of this mess alive.

Kind of like the German Shepherds used to attack the civil rights marchers, only uglier and less intelligent, but equally vicious. It's the type of force one might want if one were going to attempt an armed rebellion, or put one down. Just sayin'

I saw on Chris Hayes last night that a woman in Minneapolis was asked if she where any Hmongs & Asians lived. I don't know if anyone followed up on that assertion but it would fit nicely in white supremacy wouldn't it? I lived in the California Central Valley for over 30 years. There is a sizeable Hmong population both first generation & now 2nd & 3rd. They are responsible for much of the strawberry crop in the central valley. They are expert farmers & they grow a variety of produce. There was a huge outcry when they settled there. All the old timers complained that they were stealing jobs. Yep, their lily white sons would have worked picking strawberries all day or working the fields, sure they took "WHITE" jobs! There were no round-ups back then will we see them now?
I have no faith & very little hope that Magats will finally see the error in picking a virulently narcissistic man-child pledged to make America White again & fulfilling his psychopathic desire for revenge. We are in for some dark times & now he's going to sit in with the Prime Minister of Greenland. What kind of horrific treatment will that group of foreign dignitaries receive? Or will he just throw them in jail & declare Greenland is ours?! I guess I'll find out pretty soon.

I am not surprised about Miles Taylor's accounts of DJT during Trump 1.0 administration looking for agents "out of central casting" vs legit law enforcement creds to be hired. There is nothing worst than a stupid malignant narcissist being handed the keys to the Oval Office...Predictably, such a person without an honorable character hires sycophants that mirror 🪞 his worst impulses & characteristics. No doubt, DJT has poisoned the ICE/CBP well, which means it needs to be abolished - for the good and safety of all inhabitants of the United States.

I knew we'd be in trouble when not long after (maybe RIGHT after?) the ride down the escalator, he announced that all Mexicans coming over the border were murderers & rapists. I'm not of Hispanic descent but was highly offended by that, and quite concerned because it suggested a future devoid of the truth, and of mean-spiritedness & divisiveness. It is shocking to learn just how bad it was "behind the scenes" in just the first term. Well beyond what we were seeing as common citizens. I'm so sorry you and others had to deal with that. But it is helpful to know about it because it means that whatever motivates him is deeply entrenched, so could be even harder to confront and fight against. Really GRATEFUL for the dangerous work you do.
